A three-step plan

How a borrower
moves through Loan Alley.

I Step One

Choose why.

Most lender comparison sites ask you for an amount first. We ask the harder question: what is this loan actually for? Consolidation, an emergency, a new business — each one points to a different lender pool, a different rate band, and a different short-list. Naming the purpose narrows the field before a single offer loads.

II Step Two

Filter by reality.

Income, credit band, time-in-job, time-in-business. The fields lenders actually underwrite to — not the ones a marketing form thinks will convert better. If your FICO is 612, we will not show you the 6.99% headline rate; we will show you who approves at 612 and what it costs there. No bait. No teaser APRs. No fake pre-qualifications.

III Step Three

Compare realistic options.

A short-list, ranked. APR ranges anchored to your band, not the lender’s best case. Funding speed, origination fees, term length, monthly cost on your amount — all on one page, all in plain English. You pick. We get paid by the lender, never by you.

Question One
$
Question Two
Question Three How is your credit, honestly?

We will never sell your data. A soft inquiry only — it will not affect your credit score.

Loan Alley reviews every lender against the same eight criteria — APR floor and ceiling, origination fee range, prepayment terms, soft-pull pre-qualification, funding speed, minimum credit floor, customer-service availability, and complaint volume from the CFPB consumer database. Lenders pay us only when a borrower is approved. We never accept fees for placement, ranking, or favorable copy. When a lender pulls a product or raises rates, the page updates the same day.

Q & A

What borrowers
actually ask.

These are the six questions our support inbox sees every week. If yours is not here, write to editors@loanalley.com — an actual editor will respond.

01 Does checking my options hurt my credit?

No. The matching step is a soft inquiry — it does not show up on your credit report or affect your score. A hard pull only happens once you decide to formally apply with a specific lender, and only with your permission.

02 How does Loan Alley make money if I do not pay anything?

Lenders pay us a referral fee when a borrower we send actually gets approved. We never accept payment for ranking, placement, or favorable copy. If two lenders pay us different amounts, the cheaper option for you still ranks first.

03 I have bad credit. Are these offers realistic?

Yes. We do not show the same teaser APRs to a 720 borrower and a 580 borrower. When you tell us your credit band, the short-list updates to lenders who actually approve in that range, with rate windows anchored to what they approve at — not the marketing headline.

04 How fast can I get funded?

Depends on the lender and the silo. Some emergency-loan partners fund within four hours of approval; most personal-loan lenders fund within one to three business days. Each offer page shows the realistic funding window before you apply.

05 What if I do not see an offer I like?

Walk away. There is no obligation, no follow-up sales pressure, and no penalty for not applying. We would rather you wait six months and build your profile than take a loan that costs more than it should.

06 Will I be flooded with phone calls?

No. We do not sell your contact information to third parties. The only outreach you receive is from the specific lender or lenders you choose to apply with.
